Pango vs Loop Returns: Scope, Pricing and Where Each Fits

"What makes Pango different from Loop?" is one of the questions brands open most often on our own site, so here is the answer in one place. Loop is the returns platform most Shopify brands think of first. It holds a 4.6 rating across 443 Shopify reviews, offers a free plan, and has grown from returns and exchanges into tracking, order editing, fraud prevention, package protection and a delivery promise product. It publishes its own comparisons against Narvar, AfterShip, ReturnGO, Swap, ZigZag and Refundid. Treating it as a returns widget would be wrong, and we will not.

The real comparison is about three things: what each platform runs, what each publishes as a price, and which markets and stacks it is built for. Every Loop fact below is quoted from Loop's own pricing page and Shopify listing, fetched on 14 September 2026.

Short answer: Loop is a post-purchase suite built around Shopify: returns, exchanges, tracking, order editing, fraud and protection, with a free Checkout+ tier, Essential from $155 a month and Advanced from $340 a month. Pango covers the same post-purchase steps and also the outbound operation, carrier routing across 100+ carriers with European and Nordic depth, delivery promises, and warehouse pick and pack, on one order record run by AI agents, with a free plan and custom pricing by order volume. A US Shopify brand that wants best-in-class returns on a published price will be well served by Loop. A brand that sells into Europe, runs its own warehouse, or wants deliveries, tracking and returns to be one operation is what Pango is built for.

What each platform runs

Returns and exchanges. Both are exchange-first. Loop's listing lists "Bonus Credit, Shop Now, and Instant Exchanges" as its exchange incentives, "Workflows, Custom Rules, and Blocklists" for fraud, "at-home pickup" and "self-serve returns", and its pricing page names "Advanced exchanges", "Keep Item", "Cross Border Returns", "Printerless Returns", "box-free/label-free" access and "Loop Point of Sale (POS)". Pango runs exchange-first returns to any product with a replacement order, per-country refund logic, label-free drop-off and a returns decision taken by an agent when the parcel is marked for return. On the returns step alone the feature lists overlap heavily; the difference is who does the work, which we come to below.

Tracking and delivery promise. Loop sells "Tracking" and "Promise" as products alongside returns, and bundles Loop Core with Tracking at a 10% saving. Pango's tracking is not a separate product: every carrier event is normalised onto the order record and proactive delay messages are part of the platform, and the delivery promise at checkout is driven by the same carrier data the routing uses.

Order editing and protection. Loop offers "Editing" and "Protection" (package protection) as products. Pango handles address and order changes inside the same agent workflows that route the parcel, and treats a damaged or lost parcel as an exception to resolve rather than an insurance product to sell.

Outbound shipping and carriers. This is where the platforms diverge. Loop's carrier features are on the returns side: "Carrier rate shopping" on Essential and "Negotiated rates" and "Shipping label customizations" in its plan table, with "US & Canada domestic return labels" included in Checkout+. Pango routes the outbound parcel too: carrier selection, rate shopping and failover across 100+ prebuilt carriers including PostNord, Bring, DPD, GLS, Evri and Colissimo, which is the multi-carrier shipping layer Loop does not attempt.

Warehouse. Loop does not run the packing bench. Pango's pick and pack module queues orders by carrier cutoff, scan-verifies contents and prints the label at the station, on the same order record the customer later tracks and returns.

AI. Loop's listing describes "Intelligence" for learning about behaviour, and its plan table lists "Insights" and "Fraud". Pango's agents act: they route, message, re-route when a carrier cutoff is at risk, and resolve exceptions, across the whole operation rather than the returns step.

Software you operate vs agents that run it

The deeper difference is not a feature. Loop is excellent software that a returns or CX team configures and operates: workflows, rules, destinations and policies, with a Merchant Success Manager for brands at "20,000+ annual order volume". Pango is built so that the operation runs itself and the team supervises. The same return arrives; in one case a rule you wrote decides, in the other an agent decides and reports. For a lean operations team that is the choice that matters more than any line in a feature table. The argument in full is in Loop Returns alternative.

What each publishes as a price

Loop's pricing page is unusually open for the category:

Loop planPublished priceWhat it includes
Checkout+Free ("Free software + return shipping")Returns software, US & Canada domestic return labels, Return Bars, Advanced features, Package Protection
Essential"Starting at $155 per month"Unlimited destinations, Automated return policies, Carrier rate shopping, Workflows
Advanced"Starting at $340 per month"Shop Now, Instant Exchange, Bonus Credit, Fraud prevention

Dedicated onboarding, a dedicated support team, performance review meetings and a Merchant Success Manager are listed for "20,000+ annual order volume". Loop Core and Tracking bundle at 10% off.

Pango has a free plan and custom pricing by order volume. There is no per-label fee, no shipment ladder and no feature gate on routing, tracking, returns or the warehouse; the pricing page has the current tiers. The honest comparison: Loop's paid tiers are published numbers you can budget from today; Pango's paid tier is a conversation, because it covers more of the operation than a returns plan does. How the whole category prices itself is in returns management software pricing.

Where each runs

Loop is built around Shopify: its listing works with Shopify Checkout, Customer accounts, Shopify POS and Shopify Flow, and integrates Klaviyo, Gorgias, Attentive, NetSuite, ShipHero and Global-E. Its return-label coverage in the free tier is "US & Canada domestic". Pango connects Shopify, WooCommerce and custom stacks through its API, and its carrier set is deepest in Europe and the Nordics, which matters the moment a return has to cross a border. The European side of that is in multi-carrier shipping in Europe.

Where Loop fits

A US or Canadian brand on Shopify, with a returns team that wants to tune workflows itself, a taste for Return Bar drop-offs and instant exchanges, and a preference for a price it can read on a web page, has a strong option in Loop. If the outbound side is handled by a 3PL and the brand only needs the post-purchase suite, Loop's scope matches the need.

Where Pango fits

A brand that sells into Europe or the Nordics, runs or is bringing in its own warehouse, ships with more than one carrier, or wants the delivery, the tracking message and the return to be one operation rather than connected products, is what Pango is built for. The consolidation argument is in why brands are consolidating the post-purchase stack, and the returns-only comparison in best returns management software.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about how Pango works, and what switching looks like.

Scope and who does the work. Loop is a post-purchase suite your team configures; Pango runs returns plus outbound routing, delivery promise and pick and pack on one order record, with AI agents doing the routine decisions.

Loop's Checkout+ tier is listed as free, including returns software and US and Canada domestic return labels. Its Essential and Advanced plans start at $155 and $340 a month.

Pango covers what Loop covers on returns and tracking, so brands typically replace rather than stack. Switching is a matter of connecting the store and carriers and mapping the return policy; see how long a post-purchase platform takes to implement.

Pango, on carrier reach alone: PostNord, Bring, DPD, GLS, Evri and Colissimo are prebuilt, and returns logic runs per country. Loop's free-tier labels are US and Canada domestic.

Loop is a strong fit, particularly if the team wants to operate the workflows itself. Pango is worth a look if the same brand also wants routing, tracking and the warehouse in one system.
