Depop tracking confuses people because Depop itself shows very little of it. The app hands you a tracking number and sends you to the carrier, Evri in the UK and USPS in the US, and the real rules live in deadlines: how long the seller has to ship, when you can raise an issue, and when the money moves. Every quote below is from Depop's own help centre, verified in September 2026 with capture dates in our source ledger.
Short answer: find your tracking under My Depop, then Purchases, and "tap the tracking number to track your order on the carrier's website." Sellers using Depop Shipping don't add tracking at all, because it is "fully tracked, so there's no need to manually add tracking or mark your order as shipped." You can raise a not-arrived issue starting 5 days after purchase, the seller then has 48 hours to show proof of shipping or refund you, and Depop Payments orders are protected for 30 days from the purchase date.
The two ways a Depop order ships
Everything about your tracking depends on which flow the seller chose:
- Depop Shipping. Depop generates the label: "via Evri" in the UK, "via USPS" in the US. It is fully tracked automatically. US sellers must actually use that label, because otherwise "you won't be covered by Depop Protection for sellers, and your order may be automatically canceled and refunded."
- Ship on your own ("Other"). The seller arranges postage themselves and must "add the tracking info in the app or on web to complete your sale." Depop warns sellers: "You won't be able to amend the tracking information once added so be sure to be extra careful." If the seller used an untracked service, there is simply no tracking to show you.
Bundles ship as one parcel: if a bundle mixes Depop Shipping and manual items, Depop will "automatically convert the manual order to Depop Shipping and provide one label to cover all items in the bundle."
Where the tracking actually is
On iPhone: "Tap My Depop, then Purchases", select the order, "and then tap the tracking number to track your order on the carrier's website." On Android and web, open the order and tap "Where is my package?". Depop's order system itself knows only two states, pending shipment and shipped. Every detailed scan, in transit, out for delivery, delivered, comes from Evri or USPS, which is why the carrier page always shows more than the app. Our decoder for those raw statuses: carrier tracking statuses.
The deadlines behind a Depop order
| Moment | The rule, per Depop |
|---|---|
| Seller ship time | "Most sellers ship within 2 days" (UK) and "most sellers ship orders within 5 days" |
| US auto-cancel | Not shipped "within 10 days of purchase" means automatic cancellation and full refund |
| Raise an issue | "You won't be able to raise an issue until 5 days after purchase" |
| Seller response | "The seller will have 48 hours to provide you with either proof that your item has been shipped or a refund" |
| Claim window | "Report an order as not arrived within 30 days of the transaction date" (Depop Payments) |
| Protection ship rule | Sellers must ship "within 5 days of the transaction date" to keep Depop Protection |
One honesty note: Depop's own help pages state the US auto-cancel as 10 days in two articles and 11 days in a third. Treat 10 days as the operative number and expect the refund within a day or so of it.
Tracking not updating: the real thresholds
- Depop Shipping, stalled scans: Depop's line to sellers is concrete: "If the tracking info hasn't updated 10 days after shipping, reach out to Depop Support. We'll handle the claim for compensation with your carrier."
- Lost in transit: if Depop confirms the loss, "We'll send the buyer a full refund on your behalf", and the seller is compensated "up to $300 (or £250 if you're in the UK)" under Depop Protection.
- UK specifics: Depop's UK Shipping Policy requires missing-parcel reports "within 21 days of the date when the Parcel was scanned into the Carrier's network", and a parcel becomes undeliverable after "three unsuccessful delivery attempts".
- No tracking at all: "If you can't find any tracking info, or tracking shows the item is still pre-shipment, try messaging the seller for an update." Most quiet orders are sellers who have not dropped the parcel off yet.
- Own-way shipping: the seller must claim with their carrier and "refund your buyer in full", because manual shipping "is not covered by Depop Protection."
The physics of a genuinely stuck parcel are universal: see why a package gets stuck in transit.
How long does Depop take to deliver?
Depop publishes no delivery day ranges of its own, only the shipping habits above. The carriers do publish numbers. Evri's standard service aims to deliver "within 2 to 3 Working Days" from a ParcelShop drop-off, and its next-day service "within 1 Working Day". In the US, Depop labels run on USPS, whose Ground Advantage service is "expected in 2–5 business days". Stack the seller's 2 to 5 shipping days in front of that and a normal Depop order lands in roughly one to two weeks, which is why the issue button only opens on day 5.
My order says delivered but I don't have it
Depop is direct about this one: "If your claim is for a lost item, we can't guarantee a refund if the tracked shipping shows as delivered to your address so make sure you check with neighbours if you can't find your item." Run the doorstep checklist first, then raise the issue in the app if the parcel is genuinely missing. The general playbook is in package says delivered but not received.
When sellers get paid
Payout timing is the hidden tracking question on Depop, because the money follows the parcel:
- US: "2 business days after the item shows as delivered or 10 business days after the sale, whichever comes first." Bank withdrawals then take up to 5 days.
- UK, Depop Shipping: "2-3 working days after the tracking info shows as 'Delivered' or 10 working days (14 calendar days) after the sale date - whichever comes first."
- UK, own shipping: around 10 working days, with Depop's own pages varying on whether the clock runs from the sale or the delivery.
- On hold? "This means the buyer has raised an issue with the purchase. Your funds are being held until that issue is resolved."
Refunds and Depop Protection
For Depop Payments orders (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Klarna), the promise is: "you'll get a full refund if you report the issue to us within 30 days of the date of purchase", covering "your full purchase price (including shipping, fees and any applicable taxes/duties)". It does not cover payments made outside the app: "You won't be eligible if you pay via a direct money transfer outside of the Depop app or website, including PayPal or Venmo, or a bank transfer."
Paid through PayPal checkout? Depop "can't resolve PayPal disputes on your behalf", so the claim goes through PayPal's Resolution Center, where an item-not-received dispute "must be opened within 180 days of the date you sent the payment".
Agreed returns move fast: "All items must be returned within 7 days of the return being agreed", US buyers get a prepaid return label, and buyers elsewhere are reimbursed "up to $20/£20" for tracked return postage.
The merchant view
Depop's system is deadline-driven trust: a 5-day issue lock, a 48-hour seller ultimatum, payouts gated on the delivered scan. It works because every tracking event triggers a rule. Retail brands rarely wire delivery events to actions at all, which is why WISMO tickets exist. Pango gives brands that wiring: order tracking that normalizes carrier feeds and turns a stalled scan or failed delivery into an automatic message or workflow, with returns on the same record.
The bottom line
Depop tracking is thin by design: the carrier holds the detail, and Depop holds the deadlines. Know the four numbers, day 5 to raise an issue, 48 hours for the seller, 10 days for a stalled scan, 30 days of protection, and you know whose move it is at every stage. For brands that want delivery events wired to actions like this, see the post-purchase operations platform and book a demo.
