Tracking status decoder
Carriers describe the same moment in a hundred ways. Paste the line from your tracking page and get the plain meaning, where the parcel is, what normally comes next and whether you need to do anything. Every answer is checked against the carrier's own wording.
How it works
The decoder matches your line against a dictionary built from the status tables and short answers of 112 of the more than 350 Pango explainers, each one written from the carrier's or marketplace's own published wording and checked before publication. It tries the exact string first, then the string without the carrier name, then the closest wording. It never generates an answer: if a line is not in the dictionary, it says so.
Start from a carrier if you prefer: the shipping status glossary lists every status family, and the carrier pages (for example USPS, Royal Mail or SHEIN) explain each carrier's sequence in order.
The six stages
| Stage | What it means |
|---|---|
| Label only | A label or shipment record exists; no carrier scan yet |
| In transit | Moving between the carrier's facilities |
| Customs | At a border, awaiting or completing clearance |
| Local carrier | Handed to the carrier that delivers where you live |
| Delivery | On the vehicle, delivered, or waiting at a pickup point |
| Needs you | A failed attempt, a hold, a return or an address problem |
For the store that sent the parcel
Every line people decode here is a ticket a brand did not get
Pango does what this page does, automatically and on your own tracking page: it turns every connected carrier's statuses into one plain set of messages in the customer's language, sent at the moments that otherwise become “where is my order”. The free shipping and returns audit shows which of your carriers and statuses generate them; it is run on your own orders as part of a demo.
Decoder questions, answered
What the tool does, where its answers come from, and what it never does.
You paste the status line from any carrier or marketplace tracking page and it returns the plain meaning, which stage of the journey the parcel is in, what normally happens next and what to do. Every answer is a sentence that already appears on a fact-checked Pango explainer, with a link to it.
More than 900 status lines from 47 carriers and marketplaces, including USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, Royal Mail, Evri, Yodel, DPD, InPost, Canada Post, Australia Post, India Post, Delhivery, Blue Dart, PostNL, bpost, GLS, Poste Italiane, Correos, Chronopost, Colissimo, 4PX, Cainiao, Yanwen, UniUni, SHEIN, Temu, AliExpress, Shopee, TikTok Shop, Vinted and Depop. Translations are covered for Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian and German strings, with Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Punjabi and Urdu glossaries linked from the results.
The decoder only returns meanings that have been checked against the carrier's own wording on a published explainer. If your line is new to us, or includes a city, date or reference number that hides the status words, it will not guess. Try the status words alone. Unmatched lines are reviewed and added to the dictionary.
It is free and ungated. The dictionary loads into your browser and the matching runs there. The text you type is not stored or sent anywhere. When a line has no match, only its status words are counted, with any numbers removed, so missing statuses can be added.
Label only: a label or shipment record exists but no carrier has scanned the parcel. In transit: moving between carrier facilities. Customs: at a border, awaiting or completing clearance. Local carrier: handed to the carrier that delivers in your country or area. Delivery: on the vehicle, delivered, or waiting at a pickup point. Needs you: an exception such as a failed attempt, a hold, a return to sender or an address problem.
Support teams at online stores use it to answer "where is my order" tickets in the customer's words. Pango, the operating system behind this site, does the same job automatically: it normalises every connected carrier's statuses into one plain set of messages on the brand's own tracking page and sends them at the moments that otherwise become tickets.
