"How long does AliExpress take to ship to Australia" has a less tidy answer than most marketplaces give, because AliExpress does not publish one number: each listing shows its own dated estimate. This page collects what AliExpress's own pages do say, read on 2026-11-02 with the site set to Australia: how the delivery date is shown, what the "Fast delivery" and Choice promises include, how GST is charged, and when to open a dispute. AliExpress also publishes blog and wiki articles with day ranges for Australia, but they carry AliExpress's own note that they may come from third-party contributors or be generated by AI, and their figures contradict each other, so they are not used here. What each AliExpress status means is in AliExpress tracking statuses, and the same answer for Canada is in AliExpress to Canada.
Short answer: AliExpress shows a dated delivery window on each product page instead of a fixed number of days. On the two Australia listings we read on 2026-11-02, Choice items shipping from China showed "Free shipping" and "Delivery: Nov 07 - 14" (one later showed "Nov 08 - 15"), about one to two weeks from that day, with "AU$1.00 coupon code if delayed" and "Refund if no delivery in 30 days". AliExpress's Australian home page advertises "Free shipping | 2-8 days delivery" for its "Local Shipping" items. GST is collected at checkout: "Australian goods and services tax (GST) 10% will apply to each order valued at A$1,000 or less, and AliExpress is required by law to collect such GST". If a parcel does not arrive by the promised time, "please open dispute"; AliExpress says you can do so "on the 11th day after the order marked as shipped". AliExpress's official pages name no Australian carrier.
What AliExpress shows for Australia
| Where | What AliExpress's own page says |
|---|---|
| Product page, Choice listing (Australia) | "Free shipping"; "Delivery: Nov 07 - 14" (dated, for an order placed 2026-11-02); "Fast delivery"; "AU$1.00 coupon code if delayed"; "Refund if package lost"; "Refund if no delivery in 30 days"; "Free returns within 90 days" |
| Product page, shipping panel | "Collect a AU$1.00 coupon for late delivery"; "Tracking available" |
| Australian home page | "Local Shipping"; "Free shipping / 2-8 days delivery" |
| Help centre, "When will I receive my order?" | "After seller send out your package, you will receive the goods in the promised delivery time. There is the estimated delivery time and shipping information shown on the logistics page" |
| Shipping guarantee page | "Items marked with Shipping guarantee are assured that the order will be shipped within the promised time or you get a compensation coupon code." |
The delivery date on the product page is per listing and per day: it depends on where the item ships from, the shipping option the seller offers, and your address, and AliExpress updates it as the parcel moves ("the estimated delivery time will be updated based on the newest logistics information"). The 2 to 8 days on the home page is for items AliExpress labels "Local Shipping", not for items shipping from China. The shipping guarantee is about the seller sending on time, not about the delivery date. AliExpress's official pages publish no table of delivery times by method or by country, and no free-shipping threshold in Australian dollars for Choice.
GST on AliExpress orders to Australia
AliExpress's help centre, "Tax Policy on Australia", last modified 27 April 2026: "According to Australia GST rule, from 1 July 2018, Australian goods and services tax (GST) 10% will apply to each order valued at A$1,000 or less, and AliExpress is required by law to collect such GST and remit to Australian Taxation Office." and "You can find specific tax value on check-out page when ordering." The exceptions it lists are buyers with an ABN who state they are GST registered, several goods with a combined customs value over A$1,000 shipped together in one consignment, and GST-free or input-taxed goods. On a refund, "AliExpress will calculate and refund the tax according to the specific refund dispute type." Product pages say "Tax excluded, add at checkout if applicable".
Carriers
AliExpress's official help, Choice and product pages name no carrier for Australia; the product page says only "Tracking available". The carrier appears in the order's tracking once the parcel moves. What the handover to a local carrier looks like is in AliExpress tracking statuses.
When the date passes: disputes and refunds
AliExpress's help centre on items not received: "If your package does not arrive by the promised time (PST), please open dispute", and "You can open a dispute to apply for a refund on the 11th day after the order marked as shipped", with AliExpress stepping in "if you cannot reach an agreement with seller in 5 days". If the seller never ships, AliExpress closes the order and "you will receive the refund in 3-20 business days." Choice listings add "Refund if no delivery in 30 days". AliExpress's Buyer Protection page covers items that "didn't arrive or was lost in transit within the guaranteed delivery window", but its official pages do not state a protection period in days for Australia, so this page does not give one. Open a dispute before the protection time shown on your order runs out; after that, AliExpress says you have to contact the seller.
For merchants
AliExpress shows a date per listing, adjusted per address and updated as the parcel moves, and backs the fast listings with a small coupon if the date slips. That is a working delivery promise: a date, a remedy, and a dispute path. A brand's promise works the same way when the checkout date comes from measured carrier performance and the tracking page keeps it current. Pango controls the shipping methods, prices and ETAs shown at checkout and normalises carrier statuses on a branded tracking page with proactive notifications, with a delay as a trigger.
The bottom line
AliExpress gives a date per listing rather than a fixed delivery time to Australia: about one to two weeks on the Choice listings we read, 2 to 8 days on Local Shipping items. GST of 10% is collected at checkout on orders up to A$1,000, late fast-delivery items earn a small coupon, and a dispute is the route once the promised date has passed.
