Budbee is the delivery service Nordic shoppers know for evening home delivery and lockers, and its tracking works differently from a traditional postal carrier: you get a time window, an app, and the ability to reschedule. This guide explains each Budbee status in order, and what to do when one needs your attention.
Short answer: "Order received" (or "we've got your order") means Budbee has the shipment data but has not collected the parcel yet. "On its way" and "at the terminal" mean it is moving through Budbee's network. "Arriving today" comes with a delivery time window you can usually change in the app. "Delivered" means it reached your door or a Budbee Box locker. Only a failed delivery, an uncollected locker parcel, and "returned to sender" need action.
Budbee statuses at a glance
| Status | What it means | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Order received / registered | Data received, parcel not collected yet | Wait |
| Collected / at the terminal | In Budbee's network | None |
| On its way | Moving toward your area | None |
| Arriving today | Out for delivery in your time window | Be available or reschedule |
| Delivered | Handed over or left as agreed | Check if not received |
| Delivered to a Budbee Box | Waiting in a locker | Collect within the window |
| Delivery failed | Could not deliver | Reschedule in the app |
| Returned to sender | Uncollected or undeliverable | Contact the store |
The normal Budbee sequence
Order received / registered. The retailer created the shipment and Budbee has the details, but the parcel is still at the merchant's warehouse. A label exists; nothing is moving yet. If it sits more than a business day, the delay is at the store, not Budbee.
Collected / at the terminal. Budbee has the parcel and it is being sorted at a terminal. The delivery estimate firms up from here.
On its way. Moving toward your delivery area, usually the day before or the morning of delivery.
Arriving today. The Budbee difference: you get a delivery time window, often in the evening, and the app usually lets you change the time, the date, or the address. Worth acting on if the window does not suit you. This is the equivalent of "out for delivery" at other carriers.
Delivered / Delivered to a Budbee Box. Done, either handed to you, left as agreed, or placed in a Budbee Box locker for collection. If you cannot find it, see package says delivered but not received.
The statuses that need action
Delivery failed / We missed you. Budbee could not complete the delivery. Unlike a traditional carrier, you can usually reschedule directly in the app for the next evening, which is the fastest fix.
Delivered to a Budbee Box (uncollected). Locker parcels have a collection window, typically a couple of days, before they are returned. Collect promptly, and if you are a merchant, surface the locker code and deadline clearly on your tracking page.
Returned to sender. Uncollected from a locker, repeatedly undeliverable, or refused. This should open your returns flow so the refund or reship decision happens while the parcel is still moving.
Budbee, Instabox and Instabee: the naming (the merchant view)
Budbee now operates under Instabee, the group formed when Budbee and Instabox merged, so you will see both names in tracking, apps and invoices for the same delivery. For a fuller picture of the group's tracking, see Instabee and Budbee tracking.
For a brand shipping the Nordics, Budbee's app-first, time-window model is great for customers and awkward for your tracking page: its statuses match no other carrier you use, and carriers emit anywhere from 10 to 115 distinct statuses each. Pango normalizes Budbee's statuses, along with PostNord, Bring, DHL and 100+ other carriers, into one clean set of milestones on your own branded page, and turns a failed delivery or an uncollected locker parcel into a proactive message before it becomes a WISMO ticket.
The bottom line
Most Budbee statuses are normal movement, and the one that matters most is "arriving today," where the app lets you change the window. Watch failed deliveries and uncollected locker parcels. For merchants, the fix is normalizing Budbee's app-first statuses into plain milestones on your own page. See how it works on the post-purchase operations platform and book a demo.
