Webshipper Alternative: When the Shipment Cap Sets Your Bill

Webshipper is the Danish answer to the label problem. Built in Silkeborg, it calls itself "The Leading Shipping Platform for E-commerce", connects a store to "+70 carriers", and gets a shop live "in less than 5 minutes" through plug-and-play integrations with Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento and Amazon. It counts "2500+ customers in Europe" with a team of "+30" people, and since 2021 it has been part of the nShift group.

Merchants who search "Webshipper alternative" are usually reading their plan page. Webshipper prices by shipment cap: EUR 149 a month for 500 shipments, EUR 344 for 2,000, EUR 766 for 5,000, then "Let's talk". The return portal only arrives on Pro. Branded email notifications and click-and-collect only arrive on Advanced. Growth moves you up the ladder, and each rung unlocks something you probably wanted on day one. Pango is the alternative for brands that want the whole post-purchase operation without a shipment meter deciding which features they get.

What Webshipper does well

From their own pages, and worth crediting plainly:

  • Fast to live. "Connect your online store in less than 5 minutes with one of our plug & play integrations." For a Danish or Swedish shop starting out, that is real.
  • Own contracts, unlimited carriers. Every plan includes "Unlimited Carriers", and you "connect to your own carriers and upload the carrier contracts". GLS, PostNord, Bring, DAO, DHL and UPS are all in the list.
  • Paperless customs on every plan. Post-Brexit and for Norway, automated customs documents on the Essentials tier is a genuine advantage over tools that gate it.
  • Scan & Ship. Barcode-scanner label printing and a "pick, print, and fulfill" flow for the packing table.
  • Checkout and notifications. Carrier selection in checkout and parcel notifications, with branded email on the top tier.

For a Nordic store shipping a few hundred parcels a month with its own PostNord contract, Webshipper is a sensible, honest tool.

Where the tiers run out

The first issue is the meter. Divide the plan price by the cap and Essentials works out to about EUR 0.30 per shipment, Pro to about EUR 0.17, Advanced to about EUR 0.15. Those are Webshipper's published prices divided by Webshipper's published limits, not our estimate of your bill. Ship 501 parcels and you are on the EUR 344 plan.

The second is gating. A return portal is table stakes for a fashion or footwear brand, and on Webshipper it starts at Pro. "Branded e-mail notifications", the thing your customer actually sees, starts at Advanced, EUR 766 a month. Workstations climb the same ladder: one, five, ten.

The third is depth past the label. Webshipper's return portal page promises to "make it easier for your customers to return products" and to capture return reasons. It does not describe automated exchanges, replacement orders or refund logic. The return gets a label and a reason. What happens next is your team's job. There is no AI on the platform pages at all.

The outgrow moment

Webshipper is a label engine with a checkout and a portal attached, and for a small Nordic shop that is the right shape. The moment usually comes at two or three thousand shipments a month. The plan jumps, the return portal is still collecting reasons someone reads later, and a delayed PostNord parcel still turns into a support ticket because nothing acts on the scan.

That is the seam between shipping software and an operation. The delivery promise, the carrier choice, the tracking message and the return should read the same record, so an exception becomes an action instead of a conversation. Pango is built that way from the start. For the wider field, see the best multi-carrier shipping software roundup and our guide to multi-carrier shipping for European brands. If you are comparing the parent company too, read the nShift comparison.

Who should stay with Webshipper

If you ship under 500 parcels a month from Denmark or Sweden on your own carrier contract and mostly need labels and customs paperwork, Essentials at EUR 149 does that job. If you are already deep in the nShift ecosystem, staying inside one group has value. The alternative is for brands whose returns and delivery exceptions have become work, not just labels.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about how Pango works, and what switching looks like.

Published plans are Essentials at EUR 149 a month for 500 shipments, Pro at EUR 344 for 2,000, Advanced at EUR 766 for 5,000, and Enterprise on request. Pango has a free plan and custom paid pricing by order volume.

Yes, from the Pro plan. The portal lets customers register a return and give a reason. Automated exchanges and refund logic are not described on the product pages.

Yes. nShift's own about page lists Webshipper among the five companies that joined forces in 2021, alongside Unifaun, Consignor, Transsmart and Returnado.

Webshipper claims 70+ carriers, including GLS, PostNord, Bring, DAO, DHL and UPS, and every plan allows unlimited carriers on your own contracts.

Pango runs the operation past the label: exchange-first returns to any product with the replacement order created in the system, proactive delivery messaging, pick and pack, and AI agents that handle routine exceptions.
