Narvar and Malomo both replace the carrier's tracking page with a branded one and send the shipping emails and texts in the brand's voice, so the comparison is about everything around that: who each is built for, how returns are handled, how each fits a Shopify store, and how each prices. Every vendor statement on this page is quoted from that vendor's own website or its own Shopify App Store listing, read on 2026-10-30. Outcome percentages from vendor pages are not repeated, and where a vendor's pages do not state something, the table says so. Malomo's own site carries the banner "Malomo has been acquired by Redo!", so this page describes the Malomo order tracking product as Malomo's pages describe it today.
Short answer: Malomo is a Shopify-native order tracking app for growing Shopify and Shopify Plus brands, with a published price: "Lite Plan: $49/mo for 1,000 shipments", "Starter Plan: $189/mo for 4,000 shipments", and a Growth tier "Starting at $400 billed monthly". It sends notifications through the brand's email and SMS tools (Klaviyo, Attentive, Yotpo, Sendlane, Postscript) and handles returns through its Loop integration rather than a returns product of its own. Narvar is an enterprise post-purchase suite, "Trusted by 1,500+ global brands and integrated with 1,000+ carriers", with branded tracking (Track), notifications across "Email, SMS, WhatsApp and Line" (Notify) and its own returns and exchanges product (Shield); it publishes no pricing, and its one Shopify App Store app is its returns app. Pick Malomo for a Shopify brand that wants tracking pages and transactional messages at a published price; pick Narvar for a multi-channel retailer that wants tracking, notifications and returns from one enterprise vendor. Pango is the alternative when the tracking page should sit on the same system that runs the carriers, the warehouse and the returns.
Free for DTC brands: Pango runs the shipping and returns audit on your own order and carrier data as part of a demo: fifteen numbers across checkout, carriers, warehouse handover, tracking and returns, the three that matter most for your operation, and the same orders shown running on one system. Two notes on the table. Malomo's carrier figures differ between its own pages, so both are shown. And Malomo's comparison pages about Narvar and AfterShip, and parcelLab's about Malomo, are each vendor's view of a competitor; they are not used here.
Which fits which brand
- A Shopify or Shopify Plus brand, tracking and transactional messages first: Malomo. It is built around Shopify, its pages publish prices by shipment volume, and it plugs into the email and SMS tools the brand already uses. Returns come from a separate tool, Loop being the one Malomo's pages describe.
- A multi-channel or enterprise retailer that wants one post-purchase vendor: Narvar. Tracking, notifications in more channels, and its own returns and fraud product sit with one vendor, priced by quote.
- A brand where the tracking page is not the problem: if the tickets come from carrier choice, warehouse handover, or returns that run on a different system from the outbound parcel, neither tool changes that; see the Pango section below.
AfterShip vs Malomo
AfterShip covers the same core as Malomo, branded tracking pages and email and SMS notifications, and adds a returns product of its own. On its Shopify listing AfterShip says it helps brands "build a branded order tracking page and send automated shipment notifications across 1,100+ carriers", with a free tier of "50 shipments/month" and paid plans; its separate returns app, Returns Center by AfterShip, has a "Free plan available". Malomo's published plans start at $49 a month for 1,000 shipments and route returns through Loop. The practical difference: AfterShip offers tracking and returns as two apps from one vendor with a free entry tier; Malomo offers tracking and messaging with returns from a partner.
Malomo vs Metapack
These are different products. Metapack is an enterprise delivery platform from the Auctane group: its site describes "an end-to-end shipping platform built for enterprise-scale operations", with branded tracking ("Use your branded tracking page to keep customers informed"), notifications "via their preferred channels, including email, SMS, and AI chatbots", returns labels through an API, and coverage of "350+ carriers, 4,000+ services, 1.3M+ PUDO points". Its Shopify App Store app is for delivery options at checkout, not tracking pages: it "integrates to the Metapack Delivery Options API". Metapack publishes no pricing; its pricing link goes to a contact form. Malomo is a tracking and messaging app on top of whatever ships the parcel. A brand comparing the two is usually deciding between a shipping platform with tracking included and a tracking layer on its current shipping setup.
Malomo vs parcelLab
parcelLab describes itself as "The post-purchase platform built for retailers", covering "Order tracking, branded messages, returns, exchanges, refunds, fraud, checkout promise and more" on one platform, notifications "across email, SMS, app push, and chatbots", returns with "QR codes, print-at-home labels, and in-store drop-offs", and "550+ global carrier integrations". It publishes no pricing. Its Shopify fit is mixed on its own pages: parcelLab's documentation says its Order Tracking app "is free to download from the Shopify App Store", while the App Store listing read on 2026-10-30 says "This app is not currently available on the Shopify App Store." Malomo is narrower and Shopify-first, with published prices; parcelLab is a broader retail platform sold by demo.
Pango as the alternative
Narvar, Malomo, AfterShip and parcelLab all cover branded tracking and notifications, and most cover returns, so the honest difference is not features on the tracking page. It is where the tracking page sits. These tools sit on top of the logistics: they read the carrier's scans and present them. Pango runs the logistics: checkout delivery options and ETAs, multi-carrier routing and labels across more than 100 carriers through prebuilt connectors, warehouse pick and pack, branded tracking pages on the merchant's domain with statuses normalised across carriers and proactive notifications, and returns and exchanges, including exchange to any product in the store, on the same order record. A delay is an operational trigger for a message or a workflow, not only a line on a page. Pango is not an order management system; it sits on top of the store's OMS. Pricing is on pango.ai/pricing. The Malomo-specific view is in Malomo alternative, and Narvar against the other enterprise suites is in Narvar vs parcelLab and AfterShip vs Narvar.
The bottom line
Malomo and Narvar solve the same visible problem, the branded tracking page and the messages around it, for different buyers: Malomo for Shopify brands that want published prices and their own email and SMS tools, Narvar for retailers that want tracking, notifications and returns from one enterprise vendor. If the tickets start before the tracking page, in carrier choice, warehouse handover or returns on a separate system, the comparison to make is with a system that runs those steps too.
